My Weekly Shopping Trip and Meal Plan – July 9th

Published on July 9, 2017 By Lauren

Hey all – I hope you are having a great summer so far! If you haven't read my life update, I recommend heading on over to that blog post here and reading up on the changes that will be happening here on this website.

Once of the many things that you've missed in the past few years are my shopping trip breakdowns and weekly meal plans. I have great news – I am bringing them BACK! YAY!  We have a monthly grocery budget of $600 per month, which breaks down to $150 per week. This week I spent $170 and plan on spending less next week to cover the overage.

I went to two stores this week – Price Chopper and ALDI.  I have a meal plan that I am following this week, my kids are going to be in camp all day, and I plan on eating out for lunch a few times with friends while they are in camp.

Here are my dinner plans:

I spent $70 and saved $87 at Price Chopper this week. Abby wanted to be in the picture (as usual). I asked Andrew (my 12-year-old son) to unload the groceries and set them up on the table, with an eye roll he said: “Ugh, you are doing THIS again.” It made me giggle because he has pretty much grown up with my blogging about my grocery shopping trips.  He was 5 when I started blogging.

My kids are at camp this week so I needed more snack foods than usual. Here is the breakdown of my trip:

I printed most of my coupons from this link.

I got a few other odds and ends there too, then went to ALDI and spent another $100.

Here is what I got at ALDI:

I have everything I need for the week for snacks, lunches, breakfast, and dinners.

It feels good to be doing this again!  I can't promise I will do it every week, but when I can I will.
