The easiest {and cleanest} way to drain ground beef

Do you always have issues with draining your ground beef?  I’ve tried it all; paper towels to sop it up, draining into a dish (but then the ground beef goes with it.)

Here is how we do it in our house – it takes a pan and a colander.

Simply place the colander inside the cold pan, dump the ground beef in the colander and all the grease drains right into the pan.  Once the grease cools a bit we then pour it into an old can and discard in the garbage can.

Now you have perfectly drained ground beef.

You can use it for meat to add to my homemade spaghetti sauce recipe or maybe even add it to Chili.
