This week I am getting a late start on everything. I had a short stomach bug on Sunday and two of my daughters currently have it. I finally got around to grocery shopping today and was able to get everything I needed for the week for my meal plan.
I’ve also had a few comments from people asking why I don’t list fruits or veggies in my meal plans? My main reason for not listing fruits is that they are eaten all day long here. We go through SO MUCH fruit during the week that I don’t feel like writing it down every day. Vegetables are eaten every night with dinner but I often don’t write them down because I choose what veggie we will be eating 10 minutes before dinner is done. We buy a lot of frozen veggies so that makes it easy to get everything on the table at the same time. This week I have fresh green beans, peppers, and tomatoes to add to any of my meals. I have 10 bags of frozen corn or organic broccoli that are on hand at any moment to.
Here is what we are eating for dinners this week:
Sunday: I was sick so Mark made homemade Macaroni & Cheese for the kids (at least I think he did…:) )
Monday: Marinated chicken with rice (no veggie because we didn’t have any –>rememberI was sick)
Tuesday: General Tso’s chicken over rice with fresh green beans (we love Wegmans pre made General Tso’s sauce)
Thursday: DATE NIGHT
Friday: Easy Italian Sausage soup
Saturday: Turkey meatballs made with our homemade spaghetti sauce, gluten free pasta, and salad
I decided I am only going to list out my dinners each week too since I don’t really stick to my meal plan during breakfast and lunch these days.
So much goes into if we are running late, who is throwing up, who woke up on the wrong side of the bed and only wants popcorn for breakfast, etc….. You know how it is 🙂
