Homemade Cinnamon Hot Chocolate Mix – Homemade Gift Idea

Published on November 4, 2020 by Lauren

I love creating homemade gift mixes for the holidays.  They are such a fun and inexpensive way to show someone you care!  One of my favorites is this Homemade Cinnamon Hot Chocolate Mix.  Throughout the year, I look for mason jars in thrift stores, or I save my glass peanut butter jars.  Then I wash them out and use them to make this homemade mix!

Homemade Cinnamon Hot Chocolate Mix:

I love making several of these for gifting to teachers, service providers, friends at church, and even keeping a couple on hand at home (you know – for those unexpected guests who visit and give you a gift? This way you aren’t caught empty-handed! #awkward)

These make such a stunning presentation because of the way the ingredients layer. To create the layers, start with cocoa powder, then white sugar, then add the cinnamon, ending with a marshmallow layer.

It usually takes me two layers to fill the entire mason jar (this is the larger size).

Then I screw on the top, wrap a ribbon around it, and it’s done!

I can usually make about a dozen of these for under $20.00 – that is only $1.66 per gift!

Here is my favorite recipe:

If we have any extra on-hand, this keeps in our pantry in an air-tight container for about 3 months – just perfect for getting us through the winter months! My family loves it on chilly nights and snowy afternoons as a special treat.
