This AMAZING Prosciutto-wrapped Stuffed Pork Chop is sure to impress your guests! They will never know how EASY it was to prepare!

Would a prosciutto-wrapped pork chop stuffed with havarti cheese impress your guests?  It certainly impressed my guests.  Looks expensive and difficult to make, right?  Guess what?  It's not!  It's both easy and inexpensive!  There are literally only 5 ingredients needed to make this, and it only cost about $8 using ingredients from my local Aldi.

Simply cut a large slit in the side of each pork chop, large enough to fill the entire piece of meat with cheese.  Then stuff with 3 slices of havarti (or really, anything you'd like), and then wrap each chop with one slice of prosciutto, making sure to cover the entire slit (so minimal cheese oozes out during cooking).  There's no reason to use a tooth pick to hold the prosciutto in place; it does a great job of sticking to the pork.

Because the length of the opening will be roughly twice the width of the prosciutto, it can be tricky to wrap the pork.  But there is a specific way to begin wrapping the pork to ensure that you can cover the entire opening.  You will need to begin with one end of the prosciutto on one end of the pork at a slight angle.  See the illustration below:

If you begin wrapping in this position, you should have enough prosciutto to cover both sides of the opening.

Season with pepper only, and then refrigerate for a couple hours.  I usually pre-salt meat, but with this, there's no reason to.   The prosciutto is fairly salty, and when wrapped around the pork and refrigerated, the salt makes its way into the pork to season the whole dish.

Cook in olive oil over medium heat for about 6-7 minutes flipping as needed.  You will also want to get the sides of the pork to be crispy too, so after the pork is done, hold each piece on its side in the hot oil for about 20 seconds.
